How to seed a WARDOGS server

A WARDOGS match starts at 20 players, and most people skip empty servers. Seeding means getting the first players on together. WARPANEL's Seeding tab calls your community in Discord at the right moment and thanks the people who show up.

Set up seeding calls

  1. 1.Add the WARDOGS bot to your DiscordIn WARPANEL, open Discord → Tracker bot and add the bot. Pick a channel for seeding calls (or let them use the alerts channel).
  2. 2.Pick who gets pingedDiscord → Seeding: choose up to 5 roles to mention when a call starts — for example a Seeders role.
  3. 3.Choose when it startsTurn on “Start by itself” and set the player counts: start at (e.g. 3 players) and seeded at (20, when the match begins). Or press Start seeding now whenever you want.
  4. 4.Write the messageTitle, text and colour, with fill-ins like {players}, {need} and {code} (the join code). The player count updates live while seeding.

Let players sign up for pings

Pick the role the “Seeding alerts” button gives. The button shows under every seeding call, and you can post a sign-up message once in a channel like #roles. One click gives the role, a second click takes it away. The bot needs Manage Roles, with its own role above the seeding role.

Reward the people who seed

  • Seeding time is counted for every player while the server is below the match-start count (needs RCON).
  • Seeder rewards: after X minutes of seeding today, this week, this month or in total, a player gets a reserved slot and/or a Discord role and the Seeder tag for the days you choose.
  • Rewards are kept while players keep seeding and taken back when they run out. An optional thank-you is sent in game and posted in Discord.

Questions

How many players does a WARDOGS match need to start?

20 by default. The pre-match minimum is the MinimumRequiredPlayers setting; the loaded game mode can set a higher floor.

Will it spam my Discord?

No. An automatic call starts at most once every few hours (you choose how often), and the message is edited instead of reposted while seeding.

What happens when seeding works?

When the server reaches the seeded-at count the call turns into a thank-you line (or is deleted, if you prefer).
