How to run a map vote on a WARDOGS server

When a match ends, WARPANEL tells everyone in game that voting is open, and the WARDOGS bot posts a vote in your Discord. Players click a reaction. When time is up, WARPANEL switches to the winner — only the map and weather change.

Set it up

  1. 1.Connect RCON and add the botThe map is changed over RCON, and the vote is posted by the WARDOGS bot (Discord → Tracker bot).
  2. 2.Build the map poolDiscord → Map vote: tick the maps players can get. Each vote offers 2 to 5 of them at random, and can leave out the map just played.
  3. 3.Add weatherOptionally let players vote on the time of day and weather too.
  4. 4.Set the timingHow long the vote stays open (1 to 5 minutes, to fit the break between matches) and the minimum players for a vote (20 by default).

How the result is counted

  • One vote per person: someone who clicks several maps doesn't count.
  • A tie is broken at random; no votes means nothing changes.
  • You choose whether the switch can restart a match that already began, or only happens while the next match hasn't started.

Questions

Does the vote change anything else about the server?

No. Only the next map and its time of day/weather change. Rotation, mode and settings stay as they are.
